About 

James Whistler (1999) is a Dutch visual artist and musician currently living and working in Utrecht (NL). He works across multiple media like video, sound and analogue techniques to create music, film, video-installations and paintings, with a strong focus on colour and movement.

His visual work is characterized by a surrealist, vibrant and rhythmic style, while sonically, his sound can best be described as instrumental, cinematic compositions with influences from jazz, electronica and triphop. Central themes in both his visual and musical projects include dreaming, escapism, melancholy, political systems and the subconscious, as well as broader explorations of sociological structures and cultural phenomena.

Over the years he has participated in numerous groupshows in New York, Hamburg, Utrecht and Amsterdam, and released several music projects.
